righty tighty, lefty loosey

I would have to say that those four wonderful words – righty tighty, lefty, loosey – have got to be some of the most useful words known to man (and wo-man). They have come in so handy for this gal over the past couple of weeks. When I was cranking the tire iron against the lug nuts, to change the 2nd flat tire I had in two weeks, I at least had the confidence I was pushing with all my might in the right direction.

And then when I had to change out the kitchen faucet which had sprung a leak, again it was those magical words that ran through my head as I contorted myself under the sink and could barely grip let alone see what I was wrenching on. “Righty tighty, lefty loosey”, ah, like poetry to my ears!

And when this gal was screwing in hinges on all of her kitchen cabinets to LOCK DOWN her kitchen from her big ol’ dog Lucky who has been tearing apart her kitchen when she is away, again, righty tighty, lefty loosey.
